TIRUNELVELI: The transgender wing of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi submitted a petition to the District Revenue Officer, G. Srinivasan, on Monday urging him to initiate steps to give them free house site pattas and ensure the construction of separate toilets for them in public places. Led by district organiser of the wing, Meena Kumar, the petitioners said the transgenders, being ostracised by the society and even by the family members, could not even hire a house to live and hence, they should be given free house site pattas to construct their own dwellings.
