Huge haul of lottery tickets

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore City Police on Monday made a huge haul of lottery tickets and arrested Manju (30) of Kempatty Colony in Ukkadam area.

The arrest and seizure was effected by the police following a tip-off. Sale of lottery tickets is banned in Tamil Nadu and the accused woman was said to be in the practice of buying them from the neighbouring State of Kerala and selling them in retail in Coimbatore City and nearby areas. The 10,000 lottery tickets seized during the raid is estimated to be worth around Rs. 20,000. Further investigations are on.
