Farmer’s death: kin ransack hospital

HYDERABAD: A 29-year-old farmer C. Kondal Reddy died allegedly due to doctors’ negligence in a private hospital at Saidabad on Sunday.

Irate relatives later attacked the hospital and damaged furniture and windowpanes. Hospital staff scampered to safety when relatives tried to assault them. They also staged a dharna in front of the hospital demanding stern action against the doctors responsible for Reddy’s death.

Police said Reddy, a resident of Meerpet in L. B. Nagar, was admitted to the hospital after he suffered sunstroke on Friday and since then he was undergoing treatment in the same hospital.

Reddy died minutes after a nurse administered him an injection as he developed sudden complications today morning.

Police registered a case of negligence against the hospital staff and further investigations are on.
