Youth dies

A 32-year-old man died after being knocked down by a van at Gandhi Nagar near Vaiyampatti in the district on Sunday. Police identified the deceased as K. Palanisamy (32) of Viralimalai.

Palanisamy was riding pillion on a bicycle when the van proceeding to Manapparai from Dindigul hit the cycle from behind. Palanisamy who was thrown off the cycle died on the spot. Van driver Arokia Charles (24) has been cited as accused, the police said. The Vaiyampatti police have registered a case.
