WORDS OF LOVE: While her mother looks on proudly, a little girl scripts her Mother’s Day wishes on the graffiti board put up by LifeCell at Spencer Plaza in Chennai on Sunday.

CHENNAI: Visitors to Spencer Plaza got a chance to say ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ in a unique way. The atrium of the mall’s first phase had a graffiti board for children and adults to express their affection for their mothers.

LifeCell International, a cord blood stem cell bank, and Spencer’s Retail organised various fun activities for visitors on theme of Mother’s Day. One could win prizes by rotating a spinning wheel or answering questions on stem cells. By the end of the day, the graffiti board was full of messages in English and Tamil to thank and praise mothers.

Children had a good time trying to connect pictures of mothers and fathers with children by making a path through a maze on a board game. The spinning wheel had various options like ‘talk about your mother’, ‘learn about stem cells’ and ‘win a gift voucher’. A contest to guess which key would unlock a treasure chest also enthralled children and their parents.

Healthcare products firm Johnson and Johnson had a photo corner, where mothers and children could get instant photographs after buying products from the stall.

Biswa Bandhu Behera, relationship executive, LifeCell, said about 150 families had gained information on stem cells on Sunday. S. Pradeep, area sales manager (south) said more and more parents were choosing to save umbilical cord blood after the birth of a baby.
