Kodagu registers 65.79 p.c. polling

Madikeri: Kodagu has recorded a polling percentage of 65.79 in the first phase election held on Saturday, according to information received here on Sunday.

The Madikeri constituency recorded 70.22 per cent. There are 1,81,375 voters in this constituency. Of them, 1,27,370 voted. In the Virajpet constituency, there are 1,89,872 voters. Of them, 1,16,891 exercised their franchise, recording 61.56 per cent.

There are 3,71,247 voters in Kodagu. Of them, 2,44,261 exercised their franchise.

Heavy rain in Gonicoppa, Virajpet, Ponnampet and Siddapur hampered polling.
