Two accused in assault case attack SI

HYDERABAD: Two youngsters allegedly attacked Sub-Inspector B. Sai Eswar Goud while he was questioning them in connection with an assault case at the Falaknuma police station on Saturday.

While the accused -- Syedullah and Valiullah -- both in their mid 20s, were taken into custody, the SI was admitted to Osmania General Hospital for treatment. The police summoned the youths to the police station to ascertain facts following a complaint by an internet café owner that he was attacked by them.

“Even as the SI was grilling them, the youngsters pounced on him and attacked him,” the police said. Mr. Goud suffered bruises in the attack.
