All India NCC trek gets under way

Udhagamandalam: The All India NCC girls ‘Nilgiris Trek 2008’ got under way here on Saturday. It is being conducted by the NCC Group Headquarters, Coimbatore under the aegis of the NCC Directorate, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Andaman and Nicobar.

About 1,000 senior and Junior Wing cadets are participating. Base camp has been set up at Aruvankadu. Participants would pass through Chamraj, Yedakkad, Nanjanad and Ooty.

The first batch consists of cadets and officers from Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan,Tamil Nadu and Uttarkhand.
