8 accused arrested in Thrissur

Thrissur: The police on Saturday arrested eight persons, wanted in several cases.

The Nedupuzha police arrested four members of the Kadavi Ranjith gang from Manakkal near Kannamkulangara.

The arrested were Mathan alias Vishnu, 19, Nobin, 19, Anand, 20, and Harilal, 25. The police seized a dagger and four swords from them. Six members of the gang fled upon seeing the patrol party. The police said that gang members were nabbed while they were planning a robbery.

The Anthicaud police arrested a three-member gang on charges of robbing a native of Tamil Nadu of Rs.1,500 and a mobile phone. Aneesh of Olari, Sudheesh of Valamukku and Jinshan of Moovattupuzha were arrested from Kanjani. The Peramangalam police arrested Ratheesh, 27, an accused in several cases, from Amalanagar. Ratheesh, a native of Avanur, is an accused in the Viyyur Mani murder case and cases of chain-snatching and autorickshaw theft.
