Toppers want to be teachers

TIRUNELVELI: A couple of toppers from the district and a State topper in Communicative English want to become teachers. When Karen Savarirayan of Bell Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Palayamkottai, who has bagged the State first rank in Communicative English, narrated her ambitions to the media men here on Friday, she, a bharatanatyam artiste, revealed that she would be a proficient professor of English in future after achieving the qualifications required. District topper S. Meenakshi, the only daughter of R. Sekar, a bank clerk says “Though I’ll enter the software industry immediately after my studies to financially strengthen me and my family, I will produce technocrats with superior skills by becoming a teacher.” Topper in Geography, Azeeza Beevi of Government Girls’ HSS, Tenkasi, and sericulture student Mariselvam of Kadayanallur, another topper, also intend to become teachers.
