Layout regularisation work may begin soon

Certificates to be issued after payments made
Officials marking plots opting for CDS on layout plan

HYDERABAD: The GHMC is planning to start issuing ‘proceedings certificates’ officially endorsing regularisation of layouts for citizens who have already applied for their plots within the next fortnight.

Obviously, such certificates will be issued only after total penal fee payment and related documents are submitted under the Compulsory Disclosure Scheme (CDS). For now, the civic body is accepting applications for layouts regularisation for a flat payment of Rs. 20,000 to encourage more people to avail themselves of the scheme till May 31.

“It will be our job to make the necessary calculations and intimate to applicants. We can issue proceedings certificates once all requisite papers are submitted and payments made,” explained Chief City Planner B. Purushotham Reddy.

No legal hassles

With layouts regularisation having no legal hassles, the municipal corporation wants to show it means business while issuing certificates in cases with no pending payments or submission of papers.

Planning officials are marking plots opting for CDS on the layout plan itself to keep track of road widening in the future near that particular piece of land. “Giving building permissions will be easy once layouts are regularised,” pointed out the CCP.

The department is bundling all applications of 50 numbers each, differentiating between those submitted with revised building/layout plans circle-wise and ward-wise.

Dedicated teams are being pressed into service with extra computer personnel at all circle offices to computerise applications.

“Each and every file will be checked. We will put on the website and notice boards about the progress of work pertaining to particular applications. Not a single file would be moved outside the designated office room,” he said.

Fixing targets

GHMC had received up to 20,000 applications for layouts while it was a whopping 85,000 plus applications for buildings with penal fees collected being Rs. 265 crore till date. “Citizens had put their trust in us with their overwhelming response and we want to reciprocate making our processing efficient. We are going to fix targets to the staff to make the work is time bound,” he added.
