HYDERABAD: The HomeShop18, promoted by Network18, launched India’s first 24-hour home shopping channel in the city. In fact, the channel was first launched on April 9 in about 250 tier-II and III locations across the country, said Sandeep Malhotra, CEO of HomeShop18. Hyderabad is the first metro in the country for the channel to enter. Initially, the cable TV network is being used to air the channel. The channel would feature 10,000 products belonging to 200 brands in 19 categories including lifestyle, electronic goods, consumer products, cook books, packaged foods, holiday packages and insurance. Features of every product would be explained by professional anchors. A holiday package was explained by showing the places and events. Once convinced, a customer could place an order by making a call or sending an SMS following the instructions given in the channel. The company would deliver the product free of cost. The payment modes included cash-on-delivery; cheque/DD pick-up; credit card; interest-free EMI; or internet banking. The product would be shipped in seven days to the buyer. If the customer was not satisfied, the product would be taken away and the money returned without any questions.
