87.91 percentage for Dindigul

DINDIGUL: Dindigul district achieved 87.91 pass percentage and Theni district 88.3 per cent. Seventeen schools in Dindigul and five schools in Theni achieved 100 per cent results.

Of the 15,289 students – 7,259 boys and 8,030 girls – appeared for the exams in Dindigul, 13,442 students including 6,187 boys and 7,255 girls, passed the exams.

Pass percentage of girls was higher than boys. A total of 85.23 per cent of boys and 90.34 per cent girls were passed. Government schools in Palani educational district performed exceedingly well. V. Kavi Nilavu (1,117 marks) of Government HSS, Palani, R. Pandia Rajan (1,115 marks) Government HSS, Vedasandur and M. Chithra (1,092 marks) of Government HSS, Palani were top rankers among government schools in the district. Pass percentage has raised considerably in 33 out of 40 government schools this year. Overall performance of government schools rose to 77 per cent, up by four percent.

M. Balanaga Gopalakrishnan of MSP HSS, Dindigul and P. Prasanth of MSP HSS scored 1,146 marks each and emerged district toppers among aided schools. K. N. Lokesh Raja of MSP HSS and D.J. Christilda of St. Joseph’s Girls HSS, Dindigul were second and third toppers.

Theni

Five schools including Government HSS, Boodhipuram village achieved 100 per cent results. S.V.M. HSS, Royappanpatti, Mary Matha HSS, Theni, Renuka Vidyalaya, Periyakulam and Benedict MHSS, Palanichettipatti were other achievers. A total of 10,309 students appeared for the examinations and 9,112 students passed out.

Matric stream

Students of matriculation schools in Palani educational district have swept all the three district top ranks. Besides, boys who chose crop production and sports and track and fields subjects have become State toppers.

V. Gowtham of Christian Matriculation HSS, Oddanchatram who scored 1,168 marks was declared district topper. S. Kamala Deepan, student of Swamy MHSS with 1,165 marks and S.U. Swathi of Akshaya MHSS, Palani with 1,163 marks, came second and third. St. Mary’s HSS student Arul Prabhakar, who scored 359 out of total 400 marks in Sports and track and field subject, was the State topper. Dudley HSS student K. Selvasakthi scored 196 out of 200 marks in Crop production too emerged as State topper. He scored 1,068 marks. Girls clinched two out of three top ranks in Theni district.

Another speciality was that students of N.S.K.P. HSS, Gudalur, have swept all the three district ranks.

Two girls, M. Yazhini of N.S.K.P. HSS, (1,166) and K. Nivedha (1,166) of Kammavar Sangam MHSS, Theni, shared the district’s first rank. P. John Veslin of NSKP HSS (1,162) and R. Nivedhitha of NSKP HSS (1,161) captured second and third district ranks.
