HYDERABAD: Tata Teleservices, the Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) mobile service provider, on Friday announced the launch of a new wireless phone. S. Ramakrishna, Chief Operating Officer, Andhra Pradesh of the company said the new product called ‘Walky Talky’ was now available in eight select circles across the country in post-paid and pre-paid options. The sleek handsets with base unit come with an option of a mobile charger are available at an upfront payment of Rs. 1,299 and an activation kit of Rs. 200 for pre-paid and Rs. 100 for post-paid connections. On Tata Indicom’s performance, Mr. Ramakrishna said they had 25.47 lakh connections including CDMA mobile and fixed wireless phones. There was a phenomenal growth with 80,000 connections being added every month, he said, expressing confidence that by Diwali this year, they would cross the 30-lakh mark. From Saturday, there was a ‘Scratch N Win’ offer for 50 days for new prepaid customers. Gifts include Sumo Grande vehicles, Indica V2 cars, Philips televisions, Hero Honda motorcycles and FM radios.
