A ‘golden’ catch

The crack down by the Legal and Metrology Department against jewellery establishments in twin cities during ‘Akshaya Tritiya’ was well received from all the quarters, especially by women folk.

Cases were booked against businessmen for irregularities in the sale of gold and silver ornaments. Jewellers’ decked-up shops on Akshaya Tritiya. Some even special discounts . But their plans came to nought with the Metrology Department initiating action against them for violations.
