Resignation of Devaswom members sought

Staff Reporter

MALAPPURAM: The Kerala Kshetra Samrakshana Samiti has called upon Guruvayur Devaswom Chairman Thottathil Ravindran and the governing board members to resign from their posts.

Samiti president N.M. Kadamban Namboothiripad and general secretary K. Ramachandran said here that the Devaswom had challenged the devotees by stopping the Poonthanam literary festival, playing to the whims of the Purogamana Kalasahitya Sangham and its supporters.

They said the Devaswom officials were protecting the interests of the political leaders of their choice instead of protecting the interests of the people who love Poonthanam and his legacy.

They warned that the people would conduct the Poonthanam festival if the Devaswom failed to do so.
