Technology takes you closer to magic

American magician Kenrick ‘ICE’ McDonald believes that the advent of information and communication technologies such as the Internet has made magic more accessible to the younger generation.

The magician is in the city as part of ‘Vismayam 2008,’ an international magic festival organised by the Magic Academy, in association with the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation.

He is of the view that the medium has made the craft more popular among children.

“During my days, I had to rely solely on books based on magic. But today’s google generation has all the necessary information on their fingertips,” 47-year-old Mr. McDonald, who claims to be a self-taught artiste, said.
