‘Operation Sahayata’ to help Myanmar

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: With two Indian Air Force aircraft airlifting relief supplies to Yangon, the armed forces have launched ‘Operation Sahayata’ (assistance) to help the cyclone-ravaged people of Myanmar.

Two Navy ships, INS Rana and INS Kirpan, have also docked near Yangon carrying essential relief and medical supplies.

While the IAF aircraft are carrying urgently required tents and medical supplies, the ships have brought material required in the medium-term.

The relief is being provided without any conditions.
