Man lynched for rape bid

Jamshedpur: A man who tried to rape a woman was lynched at Jhudipahari village in Jharkhand’s East Singhbhum district, police sources said on Sunday.

Khoka Gope had barged into the house of Vishnu on Friday night and allegedly tried to rape a woman, the sources said. But the woman managed to free herself . Khoka then allegedly set the barn on fire. The woman then narrated the incident to her relatives, after which the villagers dragged Khoka out of his house and beat him up mercilessly and tied him to an electric pole on Friday night. Khoka was found dead on Saturday morning. A police team recovered Khoka’s body and arrested three persons. PTI
