Bangalore: Rahul Dravid said that ‘it was a big relief’ to pull off the three-run victory over Deccan Chargers here on Saturday night. “We finally won a game in Bangalore. The last couple of games were close and we probably deserved a bit of luck today. It’s good to win because falling behind anymore than this would have made it a difficult task,” the Royal Challengers skipper said. Dravid praised Anil Kumble for ‘holding his nerve in the final over’ and also termed Dale Steyn’s catch to dismiss Shahid Afridi as a ‘fantastic effort.’ “In the last over when the first two balls didn’t go for many I breathed easy but Bangar hit two sixers and they were just one hit away. But Anil held his nerve and bowled two good deliveries, hats off to him,” said Dravid. Dravid also praised the bowling of his three seamers Steyn, Zaheer and Praveen Kumar and Wasim Jaffer’s batting upfront. The skipper also said that the pitch was a bit slow and added that the Deccan Chargers bowled well. Meanwhile Deccan Chargers skipper V.V.S. Laxman expressed his disappointment over his team’s loss. “Disappointing to lose such a close game. We were ahead but from the 16th over we lost too many wickets. Rohit’s dismissal was the turning point. There was no sense of complacence amongst us. We have to remain positive,” Laxman said. — Principal Correspondent
