Captain’s knock by Mithali

Colombo: Skipper Mithali Raj played a captain’s knock by smashing a superb 54 to steer India to a 29-run win over Sri Lanka in the women’s Asia Cup cricket tournament in Dambulla on Saturday.

In reply, the Sri Lankan eves after reaching 132 for three in 37 overs, could not finish the job and were bowled out for 198 in 49.5 overs.

In another match, an all-round performance by Salma Khatun, who bagged two for 18 and scored an unbeaten 53, and a four-wicket haul by off-spinner Tithy Sarkar helped Bangladesh beat Pakistan. — PTI
