Pakistani’s body handed over to authorities
AMRITSAR: The body of a 50-year-old Pakistani national, who died at his sister’s place in Delhi recently, was handed over to the Pakistani authorities at the Attari check post here on Thursday.
Shaukat Ali, a resident of Multan, had come to India by the Samjhauta Express on April 22 to pay a visit to his sister who lives in Delhi.
A diabetic, Shaukat Ali fell ill at his sister’s place and was admitted in a serious condition to a hospital where he breathed his last on April 29.
Shaukat Ali’s son Javid, who had accompanied his father to India, was present at the Attari border when the body was being handed over to the Pakistani authorities. — PTI
