Nationals winners awarded

Chennai: The winners of the Vestas National Laser Coastal sailing championships were awarded at a ceremony here on Wednesday.
The annual event concluded at the Chennai Port on Tuesday, with AYC’s Rajesh Chowdhary claiming the prestigious Laser Standard title.
The winners and the first and second runners-up of the Laser Standard, Laser Radial, Laser Radial women, Laser 4.7 boys and girls, Laser Radial Youth and the Laser Standard Apprentice categories were presented their awards at the occasion. The Vestas Trophies were distributed to the winners of the sponsors’ races.
Lt. Gen Ravi Khetarpal, President, Laser Class Association of India, Cmde Philip Vanhaltren, Naval officer incharge, Tamil Nadu, S. Rengarajan, vice-president, Finance Vestas Wind Technology India (Pvt) Ltd., Arindam Kumar, GM, Taj Coromandel and Hardeep Singh, Commandant, CISF, were the chief guests. Organising Chairman Bijoy Pillai briefed the gathering on this year’s championships.
