BBMP official in Lokayukta trap

Bangalore: Jagadish, a BBMP Assistant Executive Engineer, was caught red-handed by the Lokayukta sleuths while allegedly accepting a bribe from a businessman on Wednesday. The Lokayukta officials laid a trap following a complaint lodged by Anil Kapoor saying the official had demanded a bribe of Rs. 6 lakh for not issuing notices for violations to Mr. Kapoor’s building which is under construction on St. Mark’s Road.
Mr. Kapoor said the two bargained and the accused agreed to accept Rs. 1.5 lakh as the first instalment. He was caught by the Lokayukta sleuths while accepting money from Mr. Anil Kapoor on Brigade Road. This was the 100th trap in 100 working days by Lokayukta sleuths.
