DEHRA DUN: An executive engineer of the State Irrigation Department and his driver were killed when the Bolero car they were travelling in from Dehra Dun to Purola in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand rolled down a hill near the Purola PWD Colony on Wednesday. The State Disaster Mitigation and Management Centre here said the cause of the mishap was not immediately known. Concerned at the increasing number of road accidents in the Uttarakhand hills day in and day out, the Director-General of Police, Subhash Joshi, has directed all District Superintendents of Police to immediately get the required signboards put up at accident-prone spots.
