NEW DELHI: Orissa’s Pooja Senapati held two-time World under-8 girls’ champion and top seed Ivana Furtado in the girls’ second round of the Parsvnath 22nd National under-9 chess championship on Tuesday.

The results: Boys: Second round: Kapil Ghatwai (Mah, 1) lost to Arjun Bharat (Kar, 2); Hetul Shah (Guj, 2) bt Kaustav Kundu (Ben, 1); Kapil Pawse (Goa, 1) lost to M. Karthikeyan (TN, 2); Rishubh Naik (Goa, 2) bt Kushagra Sharma (Raj, 1); B. Keshav (TN, 1) lost to Harshal Shahi (Del, 2).

M. Jayesh (TN, 2) bt Parva Ajmera (Guj, 1); Gaurav Kumar (Bih, 1) lost to Paras Kolgane (Mah, 2); Harmeet Thurkan (Har, 1) lost to Abhimanyu Puranik (Mah, 2); Kushagra Divyam (Bih, 1.5) drew with Pavit Singh (Del, 1.5); M. Aadhityaa (TN, 2) bt Rakesh Kumar Jena (Ori, 1).
