Verification of ration cards ordered

VIRUDHUNAGAR: The Collector, V. Chandrasekaran, has instructed the ration shop salesmen to undertake door-to-door verification of family cards in the town here within a week.

Addressing a meeting of salesmen, he said that they had a crucial role in eliminating bogus ration cards. They should make door-to-door inspection and verify the genuineness of cards.

All those bogus cards detected during the inspection should be handed over directly to the Collector, he added.

The salesmen should also collect details of families that have migrated. This verification would be carried out on an experimental basis in the town.
