Drama artists enrol in welfare board

VILLUPURAM: A total number of 880 persons from Villupuram district have enrolled in the Drama Artists’ Welfare Association, the highest in the State, according to Brajendra Navnit, District Collector.

Participating in the 10th anniversary celebrations of the Music School here on Tuesday, Mr. Navnit said he was happy to learn that the music school was functioning from its own building.

He said since it was conducting part-time classes on Saturdays and Sundays for two hours those interested in fine arts could benefit.

Certificates distributed

On the occasion, the Collector gave away certificates to 41 candidates who successfully completed the courses, and, certificates and prizes to 60 candidates who won the competitions conducted in connection with the anniversary.
