Thiruvananthapuram: The Nest Group won the Company of the Year trophy at the culmination of Tech-A-Break 2008, a week- long cultural festival of Technopark. The trophy was given away at an event held on the campus on Saturday. IBS Software took home the first runner-up trophy and Allianz Cornhill bagged the second runner-up trophy. District Collector Sanjay Kaul, the chief guest for the evening, gave away the trophies and the prizes for the winning teams in various categories. The dance competition, a major attraction at the fest, had four first prize-winners, Infosys, SunTec, Allianz Cornhill and Alamy Images. During the week-long festivities, employees of various companies competed in events like quiz, group song, solo music and skits. A concert by the band Benett & The Band featuring playback singer Karthik Kumar, Pop Shalini, Azad, The Jazz Peckers, Sitara Balakrishnan and others was the highlight of the final day’s programme. “This year, Tech-A-Break witnessed some great performances. The response to the festival proved that even in the thick of their professional lives, the techies keep their creativity alive,” said N. Radhakrishnan Nair, CEO, Technopark.
