Increase solatium, says Jayalalithaa

CHENNAI: AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa on Friday urged the State government to increase the solatium to Rs. 5 lakh to the parents of the four children who died after they were administered measles vaccine on April 23.

The Chief Minister has announced Rs. 3 lakh each to the parents.

Power cuts

In a statement here, Ms. Jayalalithaa alleged that the power cuts were causing enormous hardship and hospitals were not able to preserve the medicines and other vaccines.
