Sehwag’s secret for success

New Delhi: Eagerness to be with his wife and young son prompted Virender Sehwag to launch the fearsome assault against Deccan Chargers in the Indian Premier League match in Hyderabad.

The Delhi Daredevils captain revealed on Friday that he was in a hurry to seal the victory since he wanted to get back to the hotel early and be with his wife Aarti and son Aryavir.

“The T20 format requires you to score as many runs as possible. We were chasing 140-odd. After reaching 50, I wanted to play a shot off every delivery so that the game could finish fast. My wife and son were waiting for me and I was in a hurry,” Sehwag told Samay channel.

Sehwag lauded the BCCI for launching the IPL. “This is a great opportunity for the U-19 and U-22 players to play in front of 25,000 people. They get a chance to showcase their talent for live audience too,” he said. “The ones who do well can rise to India ranks.” — PTI
