King to face Chakvetadze in Fed Cup opener

MOSCOW: Vania King will play Anna Chakvetadze in Saturday’s opening singles of the Fed Cup semifinal between Russia and the United States.

Friday’s draw also pitted Fed Cup rookie Ahsha Rolle against Russia’s Svetlana Kuznetsova in the second singles match.

In the other semifinal, China, seeking to become the first Asian team to reach the Fed Cup final, takes on Spain at home.— Agencies
