Central Bank net up

CHENNAI: Central Bank of India has reported a net profit of Rs. 550.16 crore for the year ended March 31, 2008 against Rs. 498.01 crore in 2006-07. The bank has recommended a dividend of 20 per cent for 2007-08. Net interest income was Rs. 2,223.07 crore against Rs. 2,474.42 crore and non-interest income Rs. 791.06 crore against Rs. 638.98 crore. Total business of the bank has risen by 35.5 per cent to Rs. 1,84,607 crore. Deposits have grown by 33.3 per cent to Rs. 1,10,320 crore.
