Mohar threatened to outdo Phoolan

LUCKNOW: Dacoit Mohar Singh was gunned down in an encounter in the Chambal valley in Etawah district in the early hours of Wednesday. He had threatened to outdo dacoit queen Phoolan Devi, the police said. He was wanted in 21 cases of loot, dacoity and murder, and carried a reward of Rs.20,000 on his head.

His accomplice Surendra Singh was also killed in the 45-minute encounter which began around 2 a.m.
