Biranchi murder suspect held

BHOPAL: The Bhopal police on Tuesday arrested one person in connection with the murder of Biranchi Das, the former trainer of child marathon runner Buddhia.

The police arrested Chagla alias Akhe Vera when he surrendered and was making a confessional statement over a satellite news channel here. He was brought to the Maharana Pratap police station and his identity was verified by the Orissa police.

Chagla, who is said to be a member of an extortion racket known as the Raja gang, told a section of the media that he had come here from Kolkata. He reportedly said that he had murdered Biranchi Das along with three others over a dispute relating to funds meant for the training of Buddhia.
