Karan loses semifinals

NEW DELHI: Unseeded Li Zhe of China stopped the fine run of fourth-seeded Karan Rastogi with a 7-6(6), 6-4 victory in the semifinals of the $15,000 ITF men’s Futures tennis tournament at Taizhou, China, on Saturday.

It was the first singles semifinals for the 21-year-old Karan since his last title triumph in the Futures event on clay in Morocco in July last year.

It was a memorable tournament for Karan in China as he had earlier won the doubles title with Ashutosh Singh.
