Banerjee loses

KOLKATA: India’s Rahul Banerjee lost to France’s Romoin Girouille 109 to 116 points in the final of the men’s individual recurve bow section of the second Meteksan World Cup archery meet at Porec, Croatia, on Saturday.

The 18th seed Indian trailed the ninth-seeded French throughout the 12-arrow contest.

Earlier, the Indian men’s recurve team of Banerjee, Jayanta Talukdar and Mangal Singh Champia won the bronze medal play-off beating France 220 points to 213.
