Thiruthuraipoondi hospital to get more facilities

TIRUVARUR: An additional 87-bed building, a mortuary and casualty facilities will be constructed at a cost of Rs.2.24 crore at the Government Hospital at Thiruthuraipoondi in the district.

Boomi puja for the construction of the building was performed on Friday on the hospital premises at Thiruthuraipoondi. M. Chandrasekaran, Collector, and Ulaganathan, Thiruthuraipoondi MLA, participated in the puja.

World Bank aid

According to the Collector the building is coming up with the World Bank aid.

Similarly additional buildings will be constructed at Tiruvarur Government Hospital on an outlay of Rs.15 lakh, at the Government hospitals at Koothanallur at a cost of Rs.40 lakh, Nannilam at Rs.1 crore, Mannargudi at Rs.1 crore and Kodavasal at Rs.1.4 crore.

An overhead tank with 10,000 litres capacity will also come up at Thiruthuraipoondi hospital, the Collector added.
