Abhishek, Ashwini bag titles

BANGALORE: R. Abhishek and Ashwini Bhat bagged the under-10 titles in the boys’ and girls’ sections respectively, in the Mehul Sirur memorial state sub-junior ranking badminton championship here on Friday.

Abhishek defeated S. Vignesh in the boys’ final 21-17, 21-13 and later Abhishek partnered Nihil Sriram to win the doubles title with a 21-14, 21-18 win over Vignesh and Prajwal Kashyap.

In the girls’ final, Ashwini defeated Tanya Chetan 21-19, 21-13.

Veterans tennis

Senior Tennis Players Association of Karnataka (STEPAK) will conduct an all-India veterans’ championship at the Bowring Institute courts here from April 21 to 27.

State junior basketball

The Karnataka State Basketball Association will conduct the State junior championship for under-18 boys and girls at Sree Kanteerava Stadium courts from April 22 to 29.
