Dhoni unlikely to ’keep

Chennai: Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, it is learnt, is unlikely keep wickets in the Chennai Super Kings’ first IPL game, at Mohali on April 19, due to bruised fingers. Wicketkeeper batsman Parthiv Patel could don the big gloves.

Meanwhile, the Super Kings celebrated the 36th birthday of its star spinner Muttiah Muralitharan on Thursday. “We cut a cake in the evening and there were smiles all around,” said the side’s Director of Cricketing Activities V.B. Chandrasekar. — Special Correspondent
