Mumbai: The Mumbai Indians IPL squad and the support staff were paraded by the franchise-holder, IndiaWin Sports in the presence of Nita Ambani, Sunil Gavaskar and Dronacharya Award winner Ramakant Achrekar here on Thursday. When asked about his availability for the first match, captain Sachin Tendulkar said, “I am following a rehabilitation programme as advised by physios and there are three more days left for Mumbai Indians’ opening match (against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 20). The status of my fitness will become clear in the next two days and I will take a decision before the start of the match,” he said. Meanwhile coach Lalchand Rajput said Harbhajan Singh had been appointed vice-captain of the team. Quite differentTendulkar said that conditions for the Twenty20 would be quite different when compared to the second session of the day/night 50 overs one-day matches. “We have not played a match starting at 8 p.m., the second session of a 50-over match starts at 6.30. “The new ball will be used at 10 p.m. and we also have to take into consideration the dew factor. We will practise under the lights for a couple of days and find out the exact situation,” said Tendulkar. “Shaun (Pollock) has started giving tips to the young members in the squad,” he added. — Special Correspondent
