Infant dies in accident

KOCHI: Careless overtaking by the driver of a private bus claimed the life of Abhinya, who celebrated her first birthday on Monday. Her mother and brother have been admitted to the hospital in a serious condition. The accident took place at Koonamthai, near Edapally on Tuesday evening when Alice, a private bus running in the Ernakulam-Aluva route was overtaking the bike driven by Prasad, Abhinaya’s father. Mr Prasad lost control of his bike as the bus’ side-brushed against it, police said.
