TIRUCHI: A large number of devotees pulled the temple-car of Sri Samayapuram Mariamman near here on the occasion of Chithirai car festival on Tuesday.

Amidst religious fervour, the processional idol of Sri Amman was brought to the temple-car where religious rituals were performed. The car-festival signifies the important ritual of the 12-day festival.

Elaborate arrangements were made by the temple and police authorities for regulating the queues. The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation operated special buses to facilitate the devotees to reach to and fro.
