Plans wage hike
BANGALORE: Infosys Technologies is planning a wage hike of 11 to 13 per cent for its offshore employees.
The company is also planning a salary hike of four to five per cent for its onsite employees, said T. V. Mohandas Pai, Head-HRD and Education and Research.
The wage hike is expected to impact margins in the June quarter by 2.3 per cent. Visa processing cost would impact margins in the April-June quarter by 80 basis points. Infosys was also planning to hire 25,000 people in the current financial year, he said while elaborating on the recruitment plans. “We hired 33,177 (gross) employees during fiscal 2008, which is the highest employee addition in any year”, he said.
“We have made 18,000 campus offers in India”, he said.
Infosys and subsidiaries saw a gross addition of 5,947 employees (net 2,586) in the fourth quarter. Infosys and subsidiaries as on March 31, 2008 had 91,187 employees. — PTI
