Interim wage hike for coal workers

KOLKATA: Coal India Ltd and its eight subsidiaries will have to provide for about Rs. 1,000 crore as payment of interim wages and arrears to its workers on account of the eighth round of the National Coal Wage Agreement (NCWA). Companies which will have to make the largest payments were Bharat Coking Coal, Eastern Coalfields and Central Coalfields.
