CHENNAI: Powered by the two goals from Christopher Zeller, Germany inflicted a 4-0 defeat on Japan to complete the list of hockey teams for the next Olympic Games in Beijing. In the third and final qualifier tournament at Gifu (Japan), Germany wrapped up a record of six wins in a row (five in the league and one in the final) on Sunday. Apart from Zeller, Florian Keller and Sebastian Draguhn scored for the winner. Malaysia finished third with a 3-0 win over Poland, while Italy nosed out Switzerland 3-2 for the fifth and sixth places. The teams in fray at Beijing are: Australia (defending champion), New Zealand, The Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, South Africa, Canada, South Korea, China (host), Pakistan, Great Britain and Germany.
