250 arrested

CHENNAI: About 250 persons have been arrested across the city, police said. A similar action is being carried out across the State too. The arrests follow the encounter operation in Ayanavaram in which two men hailing from Tuticorin who were wanted in several cases were shot dead, police said. The operation is likely to continue as several of the persons on the wanted list are believed to have left the city following the encounter.
