Warrant against Aamir stayed
Special Correspondent
AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat High Court has stayed the execution of bailable arrest warrants issued by the Bhuj chief judicial magistrate’s court against film actor Aamir Khan and four others for filming chinkaras in his movie Lagaan without Forest department’s permission.
Justice Harsha Devani took note of the petitioners’ contention that the chinkaras were not filmed — the particular scene was created with computer graphics.
The court then issued notice to the Forest Department fixing the next hearing for April 25.
The judge also stayed the order asking the petitioners to be present in the Bhuj court on April 15.
