Police release sketches of Kalkaji murder suspects

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The Delhi police on Thursday released computer-generated sketches of the three assailants who shot dead 46-year-old businessman Arun Gupta near his house in Kalkaji here on Monday. The police have not made any other breakthrough in the case so far.

The sketches have been prepared on the basis of descriptions provided by some eyewitnesses. According to the police, one of the assailants appears to be a teenager. Arun Gupta was on his way to his electronic goods outlet at Bhagirath Place in Chandni Chowk in his car when he was shot.

The police are trying to find out if a longstanding property dispute between Gupta and his brothers-in-law had any role to play in his murder. They have questioned his close relatives and friends but have not got any clue so far.

The police are also questioning Gupta’s former and present employees.

Culprits

“At this juncture, we are probing every possible angle,” said a senior police officer, adding that the culprits in all probably were contract killers.
