“Development lies in unity”

Staff Reporter

Chennai: Communalism is a malignant force that is politically mobilised to divert attention from efforts to meet the basic needs of people, Prince of Arcot Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali said here on Thursday.

At an interfaith meet organised by Developers India to celebrate ‘Baisakhi,’ he said that pseudo-nationalists, parading as patriots, destroy secularism, communal harmony and national unity. “The country’s development and progress depends on the co-existence of people,” he said.

Developers India conferred the ‘Vibrant Indian’ award on Exnora International founder M.B. Nirmal in recognition of his work to promote clean and healthy living.

Tamil Nadu Ambedkar Law University V-C S. Sachidhanandham, industrialist Nalli Kuppuswami and St. Isabel’s Hospital Managing Director Mary Ann John spoke.
